Performance and Assurance

We have a set of key performance indicators that monitor our performance against our service aims, and also gives you more information about how we are doing and where things are happening. These include numbers of emergency incidents, attendance times and so on. Would we be better saying: These include numbers of emergency incidents, attendance times, fire engine availability and staff sickness etc. We monitor progress against these, as well as bench marking against previous 3-year average and other services.

To see how we performed against these indicators in the previous financial year, including assurance that we are meeting statutory requirements, see our Annual Report and Statement of Assurance. We don’t just measure performance against the key indicators. Departments within the Service are encouraged to set up their own local measures. This way everyone is aware of how they are doing and can adjust their plans and work accordingly. For the latest information on how we are performing, visit one of our zones below.
