Enforcement

We carry out inspections across a wide range of premises.  If potential fire safety issues are found, action can be taken.  

The advisory leaflet below is available to ensure that you are aware of the inspector’s powers and to explain any enforcement action the Fire and Rescue Authority may take to rectify any deficiencies. The inspector will explain the reason for the inspection and what you will be required to provide during the inspection.

Prosecutions

We recognise that most individuals and businesses want to comply with the law and we are here them in trying to achieve that compliance.  However, on occasion we may have no option but to prosecute.  The decision to prosecute an individual or company is a serious step and not taken lightly.
