Believed Cause:

Initial Information: Several calls received to a heavy goods vehicle on fire on the A1 Northbound before the A606 junction with Stamford.

Updated Incident Information: 12:14 - It was confirmed that the incident was on the exit slip road of the A606 involving an articulated lorry. Cab and front area of load are heavily involved in fire.
12:15 - The A1 Northbound has been closed.
12:33 - One heavy goods vehicle involved in fire. The vehicle contains jars of pasta sauce. Two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets are in use.
13:03 - Two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets using aqueous film forming foam.
13:37 - Fire is out apart from some hot spots. Recovery has been requested and a safety zone has been set up around the vehicle. Two hose reel jets are still in use.
14:43 - In agreement with the Police and Highways Agency, Lane 2 of the A1 Northbound has been re-opened to allow some traffic to move past the incident.
