We hold a lot of information in lists and registers. Some of these are required by law and others relate to the functions of the authority, or services we provide. This section gives you access to this information.

Fire Safety Notices

Fire Safety Notices can be issued by our Fire Protection team if businesses or organisations are found not to be complying with fire safety legislation.

Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service utilises the National Enforcement Register which is operated by National Fire Chiefs Council. The Enforcement Register has been moved to a new location and can be found here.

At present historic records have not yet been moved to the new Register and can be viewed here.

It is not currently possible to update the historic records and therefore if you have an enquiry about enforcement action taken by Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service please contact us via email on firesafety.advisors@leics-fire.gov.uk

Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOI) was passed in 2000 to provide public access to information held by Public Authorities. Its premise is that people have a right to know about the activities of Public Authorities and what information they hold, unless there is a good reason for them not to.

We are committed to being an open and transparent organisation and there is already a large amount of information available on our Service Website. If you cannot find what you are looking for, or require more information, you can make a request to us under the Freedom of Information Act, by filling contacting us here.

The Freedom of Information Act Code of Practice requires some Public Authorities to record and publish statistics regarding their processing of FOI requests. Our annual FOI Compliance Statistics Report is updated quarterly to provide details of our performance relating to the requests we have processed; reports for the current and previous years can be accessed via the link below:

Risk Register

Like all organisations, we face risks and challenges to achieve our objectives and our day-to-day activity.

As you would expect we identify, monitor and manage those risks on a regular basis. Our Organisational Risk Register lists the most significant risks that we have identified to us as an organisation. It also lists the control measures for management of those risks.

Local Resilience Forums have statutory responsibilities arising from the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, requiring specific organisations (such as police, fire, ambulance service and councils) within an area to work together to prepare for, respond to and recover from different types of emergencies. We belong to Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) Prepared. You can find out more about what they do on their website.

LLR Prepared create and maintain a Community Risk Register. The register forms the basis for our local preventative and emergency planning work in our area.
