The request:

1. How many prohibition orders have been issued in the past 4 years to residential blocks?
2. How many criminal prosecutions have been brought against those freeholders where there was a prohibition order and why?

Our response:

  1. How many prohibition orders have been issued in the past 4 years to residential blocks?

Residential premises in receipt of a Prohibition Notice between 01/01/2020 and 31/10/2024:

2020 = 3

2021 = 5

2022 = 8

2023 = 11

2024 = 15


2. How many criminal prosecutions have been brought against those freeholders where there was a prohibition order and why?

Between 2020-2024 there have been 3 prosecutions in residential premises.

Reason was a failure to comply with Articles 8 to 22 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005
