Prohibition Notice Lifted St. Clements Court, Leicester
Posted: Fri, 13 Oct 2023 12:00
On Thursday 28 September at 13:49, we served a Prohibition Notice on blocks A, B, and C at St. Clements Court, Leicester. This was due to various breaches of the Fire Safety Order 2005 (as amended). This was following concerns raised by partner agencies regarding the inability to escape in the event of a fire.
Since the Prohibition Notice was served, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has worked with the Responsible Person (Landlord) to ensure the property meets fire safety standards and is safe for residents to return.
On Thursday 12 October, the Prohibition Notice that was in place at St Clements Court Leicester was removed. This is following remedial works being carried out to reduce the immediate risk to life from fire.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service take the safety of all residents seriously and will now continue to engage with the owners of St Clement Court to make continuous improvements to provide for the ongoing safety of residents.
We wish to extend our gratitude to our partners for helping us to support residents during this difficult time.
We are unable to comment any further due to ongoing legal proceedings.
