Prohibition Notice Served 7 The Coneries, Loughborough

On Wednesday 13 March at 09:30, we served a Prohibition Notice on all 40 flats at 7 The Coneries, Loughborough. This was due to various breaches of the Fire Safety Order 2005 (as amended). We have visited the site several times following a number of concerns.

We take the safety of residents seriously and only proceed with a Prohibition Notice in the interests of the safety of our communities and where there is an immediate risk to life. We appreciate how devastating it is for people to leave their homes and we will only issue a Prohibition Notice when all other alternatives have been exhausted.

We have increased our pre-planned attendance to any fires for this property due to the seriousness of the issues we have found.

Charnwood Borough Council is helping those affected find temporary alternative accommodation where they are unable to stay with friends and family.

We are unable to comment any further due to ongoing legal proceedings.
